Evangelist preacher anti-Islamist sentiments from near 9/11 site
    Tucson Post
    Monday 6th September, 2010

An internet evangelist has been preaching against Muslim radicalism at a location near the 9/11 site in New York.

The evangelist, Bill Keller from Florida, has begun holding services near ground zero to preach against Islam, to appease those in the area who have been objecting a local Muslim community center nearby.

Keller, who has gained a following through his Liveprayer.com website, wants to establish what he calls a "9/11 Christian center to counter the lies of Islam."

Keller says developers have a right to build the Muslim center but the plan to locate it near the site of the September 11th terrorist attacks is "in poor taste."

Early plans for the Islamic center call for a 500-seat auditorium and mosque.

Keller is currently preaching his message from the New York Marriott Downtown Hotel.
